We’re happy to announce that Worona now displays the author bio of your WordPress posts on your mobile app.
As many of you had requested this feature, we’ve decided to include it for free in both of our current themes: the Starter and the Pro Theme.
How to add an author bio
The author bio is a small section where you can display information about the post author. If you want to add this section in your posts you can do it by logging in to your WordPress account on your website and click on “Users” > “Your Profile” from your WordPress Control Panel.
Alternatively, if you are the site administrator, you can go to “Users” and then click on the edit link below the user you want to edit.
Once you’ve filled in the biographical information remember to hit the “Update Profile” button. And that’s it. Your mobile app will automatically display it when you click on the author’s name.
As usual, you can also preview what this looks like from your Worona dashboard. This section does not only display the biographical info but also all posts written by that author and his/her photo on Gravatar. If you are not familiar with Gravatar, take a look at this WPBeginner’s guide about it.
Why is this feature important?
For most readers, they will learn about you from the author bio that is on your posts. A short biographical information of yourself gives you a chance to tell them a bit more about yourself. You can share your favourite hobbies, what you like to do in your free time, what inspires you to write, and many other things.
This helps build credibility as your readers can see an actual person behind the content and your authority in a particular subject.
We are launching new themes and extensions soon, and more will be added periodically. If you haven’t done it yet, register now at worona.org to stay up-to-date
